The Air Force has released almost 60 years of files relating to UFO sightings.
The reports, totalling about 2000 pages, were collected between 1952 and last year.
Included is a large file on New Zealand's most famous unidentified sighting, in 1978, when a television crew in a plane near Kaikoura took footage of bright lights.
There are also hundreds of reported sightings by Air Force personnel and members of the public, and notes on investigations into those sightings.
