The home crowd favourite Andy Murray has made it through to third round of Wimbeldon after beating Croatia's Ivo Karlovic.

Andy Murray beat the giant Croat 7-5 6-7 6-2 7-6.

There was scandal though as Karlovic called match officials' credibility into question and accused them of bias towards the home favourite after he was penalised for foot-faulting 11 times.

But Murray says while he's sympathetic to the Croat that it would need to be investigated further with technology.

He says he was satisfied with how he played against an unusually taller player.

Kei Nishikori became the first Japanese man to reach the Wimbledon third round for 17 years as the 19th seed crushed France's Florent Serra in straight sets.

Nishikori reached the Australian Open quarter-finals earlier this year.

In the women's singles matches New Zealand's Marina Erakovic lost while favourites Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova qualified for the third round.
