Wallabies props get a rejig with Alexander ruled out

The Wallabies prop Ben Alexander has been ruled out for Saturday's Test against the All Blacks with a wrist injury.

James Slipper will now start in Brisbane, with Sekope Kepu coming onto the bench.

There have been endless injury dramas in the Wallabies camp with Wycliff Palu replacing a banged-up Radike Samo, speedsters Digby Ioane and Dom Shipperly nursing knee and wrist injuries, and the reserve hooker Saia Faingaa broke his hand at training just after Tuesday's team announcement.

The Australians' coach Robbie Deans says his recalled No.8 Palu won't go close to lasting 80 minutes at Suncorp Stadium - which is set to sell out - but Deans is adamant Palu will make an impact.

The 41-test loose forward returns after 16 weeks off with a shoulder injury, but Deans says Palu's "trained the house down this week" and his 118-kilogramme frame will be a key weapon at the breakdown.
