Mitchell still wants to coach the Lions

The former All Blacks coach John Mitchell is keen to stay coaching in South Africa after reports that he has been cleared of misconduct.

Mitchell was suspended by the Lions Super Rugby side following claims by players of ill-treatment, while the Lions later added charges of bringing the union into disrepute over statements he made over their participation in the tournament.

Mitchell's management company has released a statement claiming Mitchell has been found not guilty of various charges of misconduct, while other charges have been withdrawn.

Mitchell says he wants to remain as head coach and has turned down an offer to coach the English club Sale.

The Lions have released a statement saying the disciplinary hearing has concluded but did not give any indication of what the findings contained.
