Dan King-Turner earns wild card into Heineken tennis Open

The New Zealand number two tennis player Dan King-Turner has discovered he's earnt a wild card entry into the main draw of the Heineken Open which starts on Monday in Auckland.

The national champion recieved the good news from tournament director Karl Budge when he turned up to register for the weekend's qualifying.

King-Turner believes Budge was looking at a couple of foreign players who didn't work out, so elected to give the local a place in the tournament.
