The Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic begin the defence of their trans-Tasman netball title when they play the Canterbury Tactix in the opening round of the trans-Tasman competition tonight.
The Magic have retained six of the seven on-court players who featured in the grand final including Silver Ferns Irene Van Dyk, Laura Langman, Casey Williams, and Leana de Bruin.
The Magic coach Noeline Taurua says while stability is a good thing they can't afford to remain static in their developement and says they've been trying out new things so they don't become predictable.
Taurua says while the Northern Mystics have been the Magic's biggest local rivals over the past two seasons, she says the Central Pulse also pose a threat this year.
