Stoner questions fitness

5:23 pm on 2 January 2009

Former world MotoGP motorcycling champion Casey Stoner is still not certain he will be fit for next month's pre-season test in Malaysia.

Stoner is slowly regaining full strength after undergoing surgery on his left wrist to correct problems caused by an old injury.

The Australian will be joined at Ducati this season by the 2006 world champion Nicky Hayden, who will shoulder much of the test duties at Sepang.

Stoner says he's 99 per cent certain he will be riding at Sepang although he doubts it will be at full fitness.
