Australia wins third test at SCG by 103 runs

The Australian cricket side has defeated South Africa by 103 runs in the third test at the SCG.

Injured South African captain Graeme Smith bravely came out to bat at No.11 with a broken hand with 8.2 overs to play on the final day.

But he was bowled for three by Mitchell Johnson with 10 balls to go before stumps.

The Proteas were dismissed for 272 chasing 376 to win.

South Africa won the series 2-1 but Australia's victory ensured the home side retained the world number one ranking.
