The Lance Armstrong factor and just how fit the former Tour de France champion really is remains a mystery going into the Tour Down Under, says his former teammate George Hincapie.
This year's race will be Hincapie's first for the season and the first event where he and Armstrong will be rivals.
The 11-time Tour de France veteran was the only rider to support Armstrong in each of his seven tour wins.
But Hincapie says he he can't answer the question of how well his good friend might perform after more than three years away from the sport.
