Australia to play Pakistan in UAE

6:03 am on 5 February 2009

Pakistan and Australia have agreed to play a five-match one-day cricket series and a Twenty20 game at neutral venues in the United Arab Emirates in April and May.

Australia pulled out of their scheduled test and one-day tour to Pakistan last year due to security concerns. The limited over series was part of the original itinerary.

The Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Ejaz Butt says Cricket Australia is still keen to come and play in Pakistan but they have not got clearance from their government for security reasons, so they've agreed to have the five one-day matches and the Twenty20 game in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
