Giteau to leave Force

4:27 pm on 21 February 2009

The Australian rugby player Matt Giteau has announced he is leaving the Force at the end of the Super 14 season to return to the ACT Brumbies.

Giteau, who has played 26 matches for the Force since joining the club for the 2007 season, has signed a two-year deal with the Brumbies, for the 2010 and 2011 seasons.

The 26-year-old says he was very fortunate to have two fantastic offers to consider and in the end it came down to a simple desire to return to Canberra.

He says now the decision has been made, it's great to be able to focus entirely on playing for the Force and working hard to break through for their first finals campaign.
