The Bulldogs have held held out a fast-finishing Cronulla to win their National Rugby League match in Sydney 24-12.

Hooker Michael Ennis had a hand in all three of the Bulldogs first half tries as they raced to an 18-0 lead after just 23 minutes .

But the Sharks fought their way back to be within one converted try early in the second half.

The Bulldogs finally sealed the result with a Josh Morris try in the 72nd minute, but only after three tries were disallowed.

It is Cronulla's third straight defeat and making matters worse winger Luke Covell was placed on report for tripping.
