The world's top tennis player Serena Williams has copped the biggest fine in tennis history and been put on probation for two years following her foul-mouthed tirade at a line judge during this year's US Open.
The fine of 245-thousand dollars will be more than halved if she behaves herself for the next 12 months, but a further offence at a grand slam event in the next two years would see her suspended from the US Open.
Williams' outburst at Flushing Meadow last September followed a foot fault call which put her match put down in the semi-finals against the eventual winner Kim Clijsters.
