The Melbourne Victory strikers Archie Thompson and Robbie Kruse have both trained strongly with the football squad, lifting hopes they'll be fit to play in the side's A-League semi-final against Sydney FC on Sunday.
Thompson has been out for a month with a broken bone in his foot, while Kruse has been sidelined for three weeks with an ankle injury.
Melbourne lead Sydney 2-1 after the first semi-final, with the winning team on aggregate hosting the grand final in a fortnight.
The losing team will host either the Wellington Phoenix or the Newcastle Jets next week to compete for a place in the final.
