The NRL's top referee Robert Finch won't guarantee Bill Harrigan's reinstatement before the finals following his blunder during Monday night's Manly-St George Illawarra game.
As video ref, Harrigan, who's controlled a record 10 NRL Grand Finals, awarded St George Illawarra's Mark Gasnier in the early stages of the game when he'd clearly lost the ball.
The game's most experienced referee confessed to a stunning gaffe, admitting his "implosion" has put the heat on other referees ahead of the finals, and he's been stood down indefinitely.
