The official countdown to the 2011 rugby world cup in New Zealand is underway with prime minister John Key today presented with a commemorative gold pin marking "1000 Days to Go" to kick off.
Saturday will mark the 1000 day mark but today the CEO of Rugby New Zealand 2011 Martin Snedden presented one of two special pins struck to mark the occassion.
The other will be presented to New Zealand rugby union chairman Chairman Jock Hobbs.
