Bowlers hold key to saving test for Australia

Batsman Michael Hussey says the Australian cricket team remain upbeat despite gifting England potentially match-winning momentum in the second Ashes Test in Adelaide.

The tourists bundled Australia out for a moderate 245 on day one at Adelaide Oval and will resume on Saturday on one run without loss.

Hussey top scored for the hosts with 93 after Australia plunged to a disastrous 3-2 in the first two overs of the match.

The experienced lefthander realises Saturday's performance of Australia's bowlers may well determine the outcome.

Conceding Australia's first innings was below par on an Adelaide Oval pitch holding no demons for batsmen, Hussey says early strikes with the new ball were critical for Australia's chances.
