The Australian National Basketball League's Cairns Taipans have completed an amazing comeback to record a five-point victory over the Adelaide 36ers in an epic 70-75 encounter at The Dome in Adelaide.
Alex Loughton starred for the Taipans with 17 points in the final quarter and finished the match with 21 points and 11 rebounds, as Cairns overturned a 15-point three-quarter-time deficit to outscore Adelaide 27-7 in the fourth period.
Ron Dorsey was also outstanding for Cairns with 19 points as they snapped their five-game losing streak, while for Adelaide the loss means their fifth defeat on the trot.
Adelaide captain Adam Ballinger top-scored for the home side with 14 points while Daniel Johnson chipped in with 13.
