Lee second in China

Rotorua golfer Danny Lee has posted his best finish on the the European Tour, taking a share of second place at the China Open.

Lee shot a bogey-free final round seven under par 65 for a 20-under total, four shots off the winner, Belgium's Nicolas Colsaerts.

Lee tied with Spaniard Pablo Martin, Denmark's Soren Kjeldsen and Irishman Peter Lawrie for second while Colsaerts secured his first title on the European Tour with a 66 at Chengdu.

Steve Alker and Michael Hendry tied for 43rd on 10 under overall, 14 back from Colsaerts. Michael Campbell was four further down the leaderboard in 62nd equal.

It's Lee's best result and payday on the European Tour since he won the 2009 Johnnie Walker Classic in Perth as an amateur. He pockets a cool quarter of a million New Zealand dollars.
