The young Rotorua golfer Landyn Edwards has a one-stroke lead after the opening round of the British Amateur Championship in North West England.
Edwards is a shot ahead of defending champion Adrian Otaegui of Spain, who played on a different course.
There are two rounds of strokeplay qualifying before the matchplay knockout.
