Riders unimpressed with Olympic venue but Todd not among them

The surface at the equestrian venue for the London 2012 Olympics has been criticised by several competitors at the end of a three-day test event but New Zealand's Mark Todd isn't among them.

The Greenwich Park site has been praised for its general facilities but local residents have voiced concerns over damage to the environment.

Several riders have criticised the waxed sand and fibre-based surface saying it needs to be firmer with greater spring.

The event was been held on a raised arena, sitting on more than two thousand pillars so as not to damage the park's lawns.

Mark Todd was the best placed of the New Zealanders in 15th position but hasn't expressed any reservations, saying while it was different to what they were used to he was impressed by the venue.
