The Kiwis captain Benji Marshall has produced another masterful performance to guide Wests Tigers into the National Rugby League top four for the first time this year with a 39-10 win over Gold Coast.
Marshall, whose assault charge stemming from an incident in March this year was dismissed last week, scored one try and had a leading hand in four others as the Tigers maintained their charge with a seventh straight win.
They are now one short of their club record winning sequence, which was set during their run to their one and only premiership in 2005.
Needing to win by more than 12 points to leapfrog North Queensland into fourth heading into the last round meeting with Cronulla, the Tigers jumped out to a 20-nil lead before weathering a Titans comeback in running out seven tries to two winners, Marshall earning a early breather ten minutes from time.
The Kiwi skipper was at the heart of everything the Tigers did early, a blazing short side raid setting up Matt Utai's opener before a two-man cut-out pass found Beau Ryan on the opposite side, the winger doing brilliantly to touch down with all but his ball-carrying arm outside the field of play.
So with one round to go the Warriors are in 7th place.
