The England fast bowler Steve Finn has signed on for a one-month stint with the Otago Volts in a bid to get some four day cricket under his belt prior to the series against Pakistan in January.
The member of the last summer's Ashes winning team in Australia will join the Volts following his national team's current one-day series in India.
He will arrive in time for their opening Plunket Shield match against Canterbury on November 7 and remain with the squad until early December.
Finn hopes it will help his selection chances ahead of England's series against Pakistan.
