A US citizen has been killed and another wounded at a building in Kabul operated by the CIA.
The United States embassy spokesperson an Afghan employee was responsible for the attack. He was shot dead at the scene.
The incident in Kabul took place on Sunday night at the premises, previously known as the Ariana hotel.
The BBC reports it is unclear if the gunman was a Taliban recruit or if the shooting happened as a result of a personal dispute. The gunfire was heard for nearly 10 minutes.
The compound is located in the most secure part of Kabul - near the US embassy and NATO military bases.
