Antonio Vivaldi was the son of one of the musicians in the orchestra at St Mark’s Basilica, so we might like to think of him chasing around the church with his friends as boys while their fathers rehearsed.

He may have even taken his first lessons in composition from the maestro di cappella there, Giovanni Legrenzi.
