The Auckland Philharmonia and conductor Holly Mathieson are gathering together some of New Zealand’s top opera singers for their next concert on Friday 9 October.

Hosted by Simon O'Neill, “Tales of Passion and Betrayal” will see the singers perform scenes from favourite operas including La Bohème,  Roméo et Juliette, and Rigoletto.

David Morriss caught up with two of the artists, soprano Anna Leese and tenor Oliver Sewell, who shared some insights into how they each approach sing operatic roles, the preparation involved, and what's really going on inside their heads while they're performing on stage...
