This Way Up: Eating Locusts
People have been eating insects and their eggs and larvae for thousands of years, but with the world's population rising to an estimated 10 billion by 2050, there's a renewed interest in consuming insects as an eco-friendly source of protein. Malcolm Diack is a locust farmer and breeds what he calls "sky prawns" in Dunedin, and This Way Up's Simon Morton popped in to see his bug farm.
