The Festival of Architecture has an event tomorrow which ties in nicely with Maori language week.
There is a walking tour of Auckland which highlights the city's landmarks with historical significance which to many go largely unnoticed.
The Tamaki Makarau Hiko is led by Pita Turei who's a noted story teller and respected orator who's hoping to connect a new generation with ancient histories of the city.
He talks to Jesse about the tour and the city's past.
