Protest at dawn to protect 100-year-old trees

Protesters gathered at dawn today in the Auckland suburb of Avondale as part of ongoing efforts to protect 100-year-old native trees from felling.

Forty-six trees on the corner of Canal Road and Wairau Avenue are due to go, after the section was sold to developers to build houses.
