AT THE MOVIES #870    FREEDOM FROM CHOICE

 

Simon Morris plays the hand he’s dealt – one of the biggest films of the year,  an environmental documentary, narrated by the element Carbon, and a sweet little romance that remembers Lebanon in happier times.

 

 

The Batman sees Robert Pattinson (Twilight) take on the mask and cowl.   Also starring Andy Serkis, Zoe Kravitz, and two heavily disguised supervillains.   Directed by Matt Reeves (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Cloverfield)

 

Carbon:  The Unauthorized Biography is a documentary about “the least understood element on Earth”.    Featuring a parade of big-name scientists, and Sarah Snook (Succession) as the voice of Carbon.

 

And Skies of Lebanon is the romantic story of a young Swiss woman who went to Beirut to work, and fell in love – with a professor and the land of Lebanon.  Stars Alba Rohrwacher (The lost daughter).
