AT THE MOVIES #899     WHO KILLED THE CHAUFFEUR?

 

Simon Morris wrestles with challenging storylines, and wonders if you have to understand everything to enjoy them.   

 

The night of the 28th  is a French police thriller about a shocking murder that becomes an obsession for the two detectives trying to solve it.   Written and directed by Dominik Moll (Harry he’s here to help)

 

The woman king is the controversial film about a real-life women’s army in 19th century West Africa, and their involvement in the slave trade.  Starring and produced by Viola Davis (The help), with John Boyega (Star Wars) and Lashana Lynch (No time to die).   

 

And Decision to leave is the award winning South Korean film noir, about a policeman who finds himself falling for the prime suspect in a murder,  Directed by Park Chan-wook (Oldboy).
