Lack of information key issue for Murupara low vaccinations

From Checkpoint, 5:37 pm on 1 November 2021

The small Bay of Plenty town Murupara has seen vaccination rates climb in the last few weeks - despite battling misinformation in the community.

When vaccine data was first released the town had the lowest uptake nationwide - with 32 percent having had the first dose.

According to the most recent data, it is up to 44 percent. But that is still half the nationwide vaccine rate - which now sits at 88 percent single dosed.

One of the people helping to get the message out about the vaccine is Murupara Community Board Chair Jackie Te Amo. She talks to Lisa Owen.
