From Checkpoint, 5:48 pm on 10 July 2023

There's an environmental revolution brewing on the golf course, and it's all about your coffee discards. Waste coffee grounds collected from NZ cafes will be used to make biodegradable golf tees for the local and international market.

Research shows 2.25 billion cups of coffee are consumed globally every day, producing 18 million tonnes of coffee grounds as a by-product annually.

Co founder Kael Deherrera spoke to Lisa Owen.
