Houghton Bay water main rupture leaves 200 homes without water

A Wellington resident says she would rather have functioning pipes than a newly rebuilt town hall.

Yesterday, a leaking water main in Houghton Bay ruptured sending a torrent of mud and trees into the valley below and left two hundred homes without water.

Mayor Tory Whanau insists that water infrastructure is a priority for the council and she's confident funding for it will increase.
