Building and construction sector could see wide spread

The building and construction industry could be facing wide spread demolition, with a signficant slow down putting pressure on some companies. IRD is also cracking down on the sector that owes $900m in unpaid taxes. And over the weekend a decades old Timaru building company that specialises in farm buildings, Tony Boyce builders, revealed it's closing after work dried up. The coalition government's announced measures to cut construction costs including; allowing some products certified in overseas countries to used here without having to go through another approcal process. But it's also stopped a number of construction and infracture jobs going onto the Immigration Green that offers a fast track to residency. The New Zealand Construction Industry Council represent the likes of builders, engineers, architects and plumbers. Its executive director, Tommy Honey speaks to Lisa Owen
