2:15 Faye Webster talks ahead of Laneway

Faye Webster is an indie-darling from Atlanta with music to make you cry, in a good way. Her country lilt and R&B song-writing techniques create a compelling sound.

Webster has released four studio albums, racking up millions of listeners, and featuring on Obama’s famous yearly playlist. Her forthcoming album, UnderDressed at the Symphony is out in March.

Charlotte chats to Faye ahead of her appearance on the NZ stage at Laneway in just over week.

3:30  Tony Stamp: Aotearoa's music micro-labels

New Zealand has a legacy of independent record labels, from Flying Nun to Deepgrooves, and currently houses smaller versions of the same: often run by one person, using their free time to market and distribute music they love, and sometimes winning overseas audiences.

Tony Stamp visited four cities around the country, to meet the people behind these music micro-labels. This week he’s in Wellington, and Auckland.
