2:00 Dinosaur Jr. heading to NZ

J Mascis from Dinosaur Jr. has been a regular visitor to NZ over the years and speaks to Charlotte about his decades of music making - and his new solo album What Do We Do Now, which was released yesterday.  

Dinosaur Jr are performing at Auckland Town Hall on March 2nd to celebrate 30 years of their album Where You Been.

3:20 Introducing: Miakie & Ethan Jupe

This week we meet Miake & Ethan Jupe. Singer-songwriter Miakie is based in Napier, Hawkes' Bay and is joined by Auckland producer Ethan Dupe.

They share their new single 'Want the Goosebumps". The pair met up at Bigpop Studios in Auckland to make the song in early 2023. 

3:30 DJ Nia Archives and the new generation of jungle

UK Producer and DJ Nia Archives is part of the new generation of UK rave and drum & bass musicians.

Growing up, her Grandmother would play jungle, hip-hop and Jamaican music through the family sound system.

She formed her own record label - Hijinxx - and released her first single ‘Sober Feels’ in 2020

Since then she has been awarded DJ Mag Award for Best Breakthrough DJ, 2022 – NME Award for Best Producer and has been nominated for the Brit Award Rising Star.

From Jamaica and Leeds, Nia Archives is returning to New Zealand this week to perform at Laneway Festival.

4:00 The Mixtape - Tom Scott

On the mixtape today is Tom Scott, known for his musical projects Home Brew, At Peace, and Avantdale Bowling Club.

Last year after a decade-long hiatus, Home Brew released their second album Run It Back to much acclaim, alongside a two-part documentary on the process.

Tom shares tracks that inspired Home Brew’s new album, lyrically and thematically.
