Auckland's event agency is withdrawing from funding from future Santa Parades.
Next week's parade will go ahead but at a loss for the second year in a row, despite support from commercial sponsors and volunteers.
ATEED says the parade is not a big domestic tourism draw like other festivals such as Diwali and the Lantern festival.
