An ecologist is warning of the dangers of overcrowding on the crowdfunded beach Awaroa.
Professor Steve Trewick, an Evolutionary Ecologist at Massey University, told the Otago Daily Times there's been a big increase in visitors since the beach was bought "by the people" in 2016, and quad bike and tractor tracks consistently mark the beach.
Professor Trewick tells us what hes concerned about and how the damage could be contained.
