New Zealander Alan Isaac appointed ICC president

The International Cricket Council has for the first time appointed a New Zealander as its new president.

Former New Zealand Cricket chairman Alan Isaac was elected as the new ICC president at its annual conference in Kuala Lumpur.

He the first New Zealander to ever hold the position.

In 2010 he was appointed vice-president following a joint nomination from Australia and New Zealand's respective cricket bodies.

Isaac will take over from India's Sharad Pawar.
