SMH says Deans won't quit Wallabies

The Australian Rugby Union has denied that under-pressure Wallabies coach Robbie Deans has tendered his resignation.

Speculation reached new heights yesterday when former Wallaby Jeremy Paul suggested Deans had signed a deal to return across the ditch while others have linked Deans to the vacant Waratahs job.

The Sydney Morning Herald is reporting that a source close to Deans says there is no way he would leave the Wallabies.

Deans accepting an offer to link with the Waratahs is just as unlikely. He has been contacted by the franchise, but only as a consultant as they look to appoint a new coach.

The Herald says while Deans was reluctant to comment yesterday, it is understood he has no intention of quitting.

Deans is under pressure after losing both of their matches against the All Blacks to start the Rugby Championship.
