The New Zealand amateur number one Ben Campbell has finished ninth in the Lake Macquarie Amateur Championship at the Belmont Golf Club in Newcastle after carding a two over par 74 in the final round.
The Masterton golfer had rounds of 69, 72, 67 and 74 to finish nine shots back from the Australian Daniel Nisbet (71) who bounced back well from his loss in the final at the Australian Amateur with a three shot win.
Auckland's Sam An had a four under 68 to climb to a share of 21st place while Daniel Pearce finished 35th, Blair Riordan 37th and Fraser Wilkin 42nd.
