1.20  Country queen Dolly Parton turns rockstar with new album

Country Music Queen Dolly Parton has released her 49th studio album ROCKSTAR alongside a gorgeous new book -'Behind the Seams: sharing the full story behind her lifelong passion for fashion!' 

She has won Emmys, GRAMMYs, Oscars, and Tonys.  The he U.S. Library of Congress gave her the distinguished Living Legend Award, and last year inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame.

This induction - inspired her new album ROCKSTAR.  At the age of 77, Dolly Partons new album features 30 songs - mostly covers with a few original songs too. 

And she invited various musicians to help her - Elton John, John Fogerty , Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr Stevie Nicks, Ann Wilson, Debbie Harry, Sheryl Crow,  The Rolling Stones’ “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” with Brandi Carlile and P!nk. 

Charlotte Ryan spoke to the queen of Country herself from her home in Nashville.

2.10 King Creosote on his new album: I DES 

Kenny Anderson known by his stage name King Creosote is an indie musician from Fife, Scotland 

He has collaborated with Jon Hopkins, KT Tunstall, Beta Band’s Lone Pigeon, and had his songs covered and performed by artists including Patti Smith and Simple Minds.

Anderson describes himself as a  DIY pop voyager, ancestral seaside home restorer, squeezebox lothario, Fife for lifer, diamond miner, and hijacker of hearts. Fallible, doubtful, patched together, bloody-minded and unbowed. 

He has just released a new album called I DES through Domino Records. Charlotte Ryan spoke to King Creosote from his home in Fife.

Leather Jacket Records is a Christchurch label reissuing forgotten local gems. Tony Stamp met its founder Matthias McGregor to learn more about the roster of bands from Christchurch and Palmerston North, from the ‘60s through ‘80s, who make up the roster.
