    Aswan - The Nile Project Ensemble

    The Nile Project has a commendable mission: 'to inspire, educate, and empower Nile citizens to work together towards fostering the sustainability of the river's ecosystem'. In January this year, 18 musicians from 5 of the countries through which the river passes met in Egypt for a two-week residency. Together they composed a body of songs drawn from the Nile Basin's diverse musical traditions and instruments. The result was the ensemble's first album, Aswan, recorded live at their debut concert (The Nile Project)
