    Mikidache: Rhythms from Mayotte

    Mikidache Daniel is a singer-guitarist from the French overseas collectivity of Mayotte, an island in the Indian Ocean situated between Madagascar and Mozambique. His third album, Mgodro Gori, recorded in local Mayotte dialect and Madagascan, showcases the traditional rhythms of the island. Mikidache played at the WOMAD festival held in New Plymouth earlier this year (Cobalt CO102)
